Wow, I haven’t written all week – yikes. Guess I’ve just been busy with other things, though I can’t recall what exactly. Just everyday stuff I guess. Today I need to run a bunch of errands and I really would like to finish up my knit wine bottle. I haven’t worked on it all week and I just want to finish it up and send it off. I’ve been in a cooking slump — bored with everything, pretty much. Nothing is sounding great to me. Next month the farmer’s market starts and soon after that I imagine that we’ll be getting our CSA shares, so that should spark some creativity.
I had a great CVS run this week — details tomorrow 🙂 I decided to try a new moisturizer and so far so good. It’s made by Aveeno and though the exact name escapes me right now, and I am too lazy to get off my butt to go and look, it’s some kind of “calming” lotion to help reduce redness. Though I’ve only been using it for a couple days, between that and the Prosacea I am noticing a difference, so that’s a good thing. Except for the rosacea my skin is pretty good, so I don’t need to seek out the best wrinkle cream (at least not yet, thank goodness). But the winter certainly did a number on my skin when it comes to drying it out. Yet another reason I’m glad spring is here!
We have a nice, quiet weekend on the horizon. No birthday parties, no shuffling kids around. Tomorrow the boys and I are going to do these little mini planter kits I found at Target’s dollar section. Noah has alyssum and Jake has petunias. They came with those neat little peat pellets that you submerge in water and they expand. I still get a kick out of that 😉 Jake has been asking me about planting a garden, so I thought this was a good start. Tomorrow I think we’re going to treat ourselves to some yummy sandwiches from Balducci’s for dinner. A couple people asked me about the Southewestern chicken salad I had on this week’s menu, and it really is just a garden salad, Southwestern-style (lettuce, black beans, tomatoes, corn, peppers, olives, grilled chicken, and a spicy ranch dressing). But that got me thinking about Balducci’s Santa Fe chicken sandwiches. Maybe we’ll crack open a Finger Lakes Riesling that Drew just got.
Well, I need to get my act together and head out soon so I won’t be rushing around all day. TGIF!
Life moves pretty fast … I was really stumped for topics this week too. It was just like business as usual. Reallly boring … hehe.
