What’s In Your Cart?

I started doing this on my food blog at the beginning of the year, but it didn’t last very long. Dana, however, has tried to get the meme going again, so this week I saved my receipt and will participate. From yesterday’s shopping trip:

BAKESHOP
6 assorted rolls
4-pack cannolis
1 lump of pizza dough

DAIRY
Coffeemate (Blueberry Cobbler flavor!)
16 oz. sour cream
2 dozen eggs
3 pkgs flour tortillas (24 total)
16 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 gallon 1% milk

DELI
1 lb. American cheese
1 lb. cracked peppercorn turkey

FROZEN
1 package hash brown potatoes
1 package potato puffs

GROCERY
2 10-packs juice boxes
2 cans chili (I know, but it’s not terrible in a pinch)
1 package NutriGrain yogurt bars
1 bottle Russian dressing
2 bottles BBQ sauce
2 cans diced green chilies
2 cans cannellini beans
2 lbs sugar
1 bag tortilla chips
2 boxes fruit snacks
2 cans chicken (Again, normally I would say “ew” but this works PERFECT in a white chili recipe I got from Lisanne.)

MEAT
1 pkg Asian BBQ rubbed chicken drumsticks (3 drumsticks)
1 pkg garlic ginger rubbed chicken drumsticks (3 drumsticks)
3 boxes brown & serve breakfast sausage
1 small package boneless, skinless chicken breast

PRODUCE
2 lbs strawberries
2.6 lbs bananas
2 avacados
1 package cole slaw mix
1 packsge shredded red cabbage
1 red onion
2 large baking potatoes
1 3-pack romaine hearts
1 package baby portabella mushrooms
—————————————-
Total: $120.02

If you’re wondering what’s up with the insane amount of eggs and tortillas — I like to make a big batch of breakfast burritos for the freezer. They’re great for a quick dinner or breakfast on-the-go. Of course, I forgot to buy the bulk sausage, so I won’t be making those until later in the week.
