Celebration Season

Well the last couple of months kind of slipped away, didn’t they? May was a busy month around here, with lots of excitement happening!

Here is some of what we’ve been doing:

I had the honor of being my niece’s Confirmation sponsor. My brother and his family live in the same town where we grew up, so this was also the church where I received all my my sacraments. It was a lovely ceremony and I had a nice visit with my parents!

Jake graduated from college! It is so hard to believe that one of my kids has a B.A. (and graduated magna cum laude to boot). It doesn’t seem like that long ago when I was leaving UMass, but it definitely was! For the summer, he is living at and working for a local organization that specializes in holistic studies of all types. It’s seasonal, so he is there through the fall which gives him time to think about what his next steps might be. Needless to say I am so very proud of him!

Yesterday Drew and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary! I am currently covered with poison ivy, so we did not do too much, but there was no way I was missing going out to a nice dinner. We had a delicious meal at Le Petit Bistro, a little French restaurant nearby. Thanks to our waiter for taking a photo of us!

And today is Laura’s 15th birthday! She is such an amazing young lady — I continue to be inspired by her kindness, compassion, and confidence. Tonight we are celebrating with dinner at the local diner and ice cream at Stewart’s

Well, that’s the news from my world! Laura still has a few weeks of school left, but has already started her summer job at one of the nearby parks. Noah is also working full-time at the same place Jake works, so we will be enjoying the summer with everyone home (or at least within 5 miles of home)! Now if only these icky spongy moth caterpillars would go away so we could enjoy our yard that would be wonderful! If you’re in the northeast, have you been invaded too? I’m just hoping the trees don’t get devoured quite as bad as last year, but we will see.

Wishing you a lovely week!
