Ultimate Blog Party 2014 #UPB14

Ultimate Blog Party 2014

Well hello! It is that time of year again… time for the Ultimate Blog Party, brought to you by 5 Minutes for Mom. I always enjoy this blog party. It’s such a fun way to connect with other bloggers and discover great new reads. (But you probably know that already!)

A little about the blog. . .  I write about a little of this and a little of that. I write about food and crochet a lot! I love cooking and trying out new recipes. Sadly, I have not had as much time for crochet lately as I would like, but I’m definitely trying to make time for it because it is good for my soul.

If you look to the sidebar on your right, you’ll see a list with some of my more popular posts. Somehow, that recipe for Glitter Grapes is still my most popular! (They are really good… I think so anyway!).

A little bit about me. . .  My family and I live in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley. If you’re a knitter or fiber enthusiast, you might be familiar with the area since Rhinebeck is where a very large Sheep & Wool Festival takes place every fall. While I grew up in western Massachusetts, the HV really is a beautiful adopted home.

My husband and I have three children. Jake is my 11 year old, Noah is 8, and Laura is 4. They definitely keep me on my toes!

I work part-time as a library clerk, a job I absolutely love! I also help manage our summer reading program and head up our library summer camp. It’s wonderful seeing kids get excited about reading! I’ve also done a lot of freelance writing, I’ve owned a wine shop, and I’ve been managing editor of a telecommunications magazine.

I guess the best way to “get to know me” is just by snooping around my blog. Check out a recipe or two, see what I’ve been hooking up, or just what’s new in my life.

I am really looking forward to visiting everyone and hopefully making some new bloggy friends! Thanks for stopping by — be sure to leave a comment so I know you were here and I promise to make a return visit to your blog. Have a great day! Oh, and you can follow my blog with Bloglovin!

P.S. Feel free to keep up with me on FacebookTwitterPinterest, or Instagram, and Google+ too!

  1. Hi Carol! I’m hopping by from UBP14 and wanted to let you know I’ve followed you on Bloglovin’ & Pinterest. Looking forward to your future posts!

  2. Thank you for stopping by Carol. I loved getting to know you and plan on stopping by frequently. I enjoy your style. I loved your landscape pictures. Oh, I have always wanted to crochet, maybe someday.

UBP are the best way to get to know and meet knew people.

  3. Your photos are beautiful! I’m following you on Bloglovin’ now, and had fun chatting with you at #SITSSharefest. I can’t crochet, but I knit a little bit and love to quilt! I’m still finishing up my first quilt, and really wish I had a sewing room. Looking forward to following your blog!

  4. Hi Carol – I’m stopping by from the UBP and wanted to say hi. I’ve always wanted to crochet, I can knit a little but haven’t yet found the time to learn to crochet. Maybe you blog will inspire me to get around to it!

  5. Your photos are gorgeous! And so is your family.

I am a former YA librarian myself. I am currently on hiatus to be a stay at home/work at home mom. I too love it when kids get excited about reading.

Just popping in from the UBP14! 🙂

  6. Dropping by from UBP14. Love your blog – your family is beautiful and I love the pictures from your hometown. I’m a brand new blogger of two teenage sons and I’m having so much fun finding other moms in the blog world. Can’t wait to come back and read more!

  7. Hi, I’m still making the #UBP14 rounds. It is taking a lot longer than I anticipated because as I read blog posts and comments I end up fascinated by someone’s comment and clicking on their link, and so on, and so on. For example, I got to your page from a link on Single Mom Smiling’s post.

Your blog is lovely, and I followed your on bloglovin and twitter. Nice to meet you!

  8. How cute is that little crocheted snail?! My grandma crochets. Our house is full of afghans and baby clothes that she made for us. Sometimes I wish I could crochet too, it looks relaxing.
Those photos of where you live are breathtaking! I’m in PA, but Iive in a crappy little city where nothing is pretty 🙁
Thanks so much for visiting me during the UBP.
