Spring Colds

Not much to report today except the heat. Oh my goodness, it got up near 90 today, which is highly unusual for the Hudson Valley at this time of year and definitely not a good thing in the big picture. I feel guilty for enjoying it a little bit 🙁

Other than that it was a typical day… I did get a call from the school nurse and had to pick up Laura who had a headache and sore throat. Lots of spring colds going around.

Grilled steaks for dinner, which were delicious! And that was about it. Almost the weekend!

Spring Has Sprung!

What a gorgeous day! Temperatures reached near 80 and I was so grateful that it was a Wednesday so I got to spend time outside after I ran my morning errands. I put up a new garden flag, walked around to see what plants are (and aren’t!) coming up, and trimmed up the burning bushes in front of the house. Even though I pruned them way down in the fall, they are once again unruly and I hate when they block the windows so they got a good trimming. Drew doesn’t understand why it bothers me so much, but as long as I’m not asking him to do the work, he is OK with my quirks when it comes to the landscaping, LOL!

This Week’s Eats

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to a much more structured week! It was a little chaotic here last week with the kids on vacation and having to drive them here and there. So things should be back to normal with our typical schedule, which makes meal planning much easier! Here’s what I’ve got down for this week (subject to change, of course!)

Sunday: Easter dinner out

Monday: Turkey taco salads

Tuesday: Grilled chicken, asparagus, salad

Wednesday: Turkey meatballs, red lentil rotini, salad

Thursday: Grilled sirloins, baked potatoes, broccoli

Friday: Out with a friend. Maybe pizza for everyone else?

Saturday: Burgers, cole slaw

Happy Easter

Easter greetings from the past… 1980 to be exact. That would be my brother and I with the Easter Bunny at the Eastfield Mall in Springfield, MA.  It was just announced that the mall would be razed this year. At least we have the memories!

Not an exciting week around here, but I’m thankful for cozy nights like this!
