Oh, I have been waiting all year for this day. No, really. I mentioned in my last post that we were without heat on our second floor and finally today the pipes are being fixed. I cannot tell you how happy I will be to sleep in my bed again! Currently I’m on the pull-out sofa in the living room and Drew is on a cot in the kitchen. Classy!
Our room happens to be the one with the majority of issues, so everything is pulled out, and it’s a huge mess. On the other hand, it’s an opportunity to go through stuff that I can donate or otherwise get rid of, and re-organize everything else. So that will be this week’s big project.
On to Happy Homemaker Monday. Linking up with Sandra at Diary of a SAHM.
As I look outside my window:::
It’s cold and sunny today. We are having the craziest weather, I swear. Last Sunday it was down to -14. Thursday it was 62! And right now the temperature is hovering around 15 degrees with a chance of snow in the next day or two. Normally I enjoy winter, but I’ll be honest. This year I am over it.
Right now I am:::
I’m drinking a cup of coffee and cooking sausage for tonight’s dinner.
Thinking and pondering:::
Seems like everyone has health issues going on, and I’ll add myself to that list. Hopefully it is nothing, but after my physical last week I need to go back for another test, as well as another blood test to check on my stupid anemia. I don’t really want to get into it online, and really, there is probably zero to worry about, but I’m being super careful with my diet for the next couple weeks until I take this test.
On my bedside table:::
I am hoping to have my bedside table back today! My makeshift nightstand has the usual end table decorations, plus my thyroid meds, water, and Burt’s Bees lip balm.
On my tv tonight:::
We got the last season of Big Bang Theory on DVD for Christmas, so I think we will watch a couple episodes of that.
The kids are watching “Fuller House.” The plumbers are banging away upstairs.
Sunday – Chicken fajitas
Monday – Sausage, kale, and potato Soup, salad, onion rolls.
Tuesday – Chicken pot pie, salad
Wednesday – Turkey tacos or taco salads
Thursday – Turkey meatloaf muffins, mashed potatoes, green beans
Friday – Cheesy pasta bake with WW penne, salad
Saturday –
With my house in disarray for the last two weeks, pretty much everything is on there! I just want to get everything back in order (and get the cot out of the kitchen, LOL!)
I pulled out my Atlanticus blanket last week meaning to work on it, but I have not picked up a hook. I might start with a dishcloth or two this afternoon to try to get back in the swing of things.
Passing on my cart at Aldi to someone else and not taking their quarter. It is such a small gesture, I know, but it makes me happy when someone does that for me. Just a little kindness.
As humans, we can adjust to situations pretty quickly. May not always be the ideal solution, but somehow we have the ability to make the best of it.
My succulent looked pretty in the sunshine the other day. Love those winter shadows.
Hope you get your heat and house order back this week. Much too cold to be without heat in the whole house. Also hope your health issues prove to be minor. I always give my Aldi’s cart away as well 🙂 Very pretty picture of your plant. Hope your week ahead is a great one!
Luckily we had heat on the first floor! But it was a looong two weeks. I am so happy it is all fixed now! <3
Am glad to hear that you’re getting things fixed and will be back in your room soon. What a great opportunity to clear things out though! I hear you on the weather! It’s been up and down here, too, and, while I do enjoy winter, I really am looking forward to spring this year. Will be praying over and standing with you for a good report on your upcoming test and, yes, I always pass my Aldi’s cart on to the next person when opportunity presents itself. Have a blessed week ahead! <3
Thank you, Rebecca! Wishing you a wonderful week, too!
Love your positive attitude with looking at your room being torn apart as an opportunity to make things better and donate too! Heating problems in the winter always complicate things, glad you have it fixed now! I’m so ready for spring too – this crazy weather is a pain. Have a GREAT week.
A new room is wonderful! many opportunities to declutter, reorganize and redecorate. Have a great week
