I was looking through my old journals the other night (paper journals, believe it or not), and was reading my entries from the summer before my senior year in college when I still had no idea where I’d be after graduation. At the time I was working at my tech-writing co-op (some of you might remember that I wrote some sewing machine manual for a company called Tambrands, which Proctor & Gambel bought out… ah yes, I was an expert on how tampons are made). At any rate, the job wasn’t terribly difficult so I spent a lot of time considering where I might end up moving. I often wondered what it would be like to actually live in Las Vegas. Of course, now that idea doesn’t appeal to me so much, but I’d still like to make Las Vegas hotel reservations someday and just play the slots, suck down some free drinks, watch some shows, and have some fun. (Because we all know that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!).
Oh lets not forget the games we played on the phone while you were working. I do believe, I would come home from school, call you and explain what was on TV and you had to guess what I was watching. Yeah .. the good old days!!
Vegas was our last pre-child vacation, and we had a great time. I think it’s not a place I could see going often, but yeah, it’s a fun place to see & say you’ve been.
