Top Chef

As you all know, I really, really, really don’t like anything even vaguely resembling “reality TV.” But as with everything in life, there is an exception to the rule, and my exception is “Top Chef” (much to my husband’s chagrin — he hates it). I caught the premiere and I’m curious to see where this season goes. I have my favorites already, but that can change and usually does 🙂 From the first moment of the show I could just tell that Nimma was the one getting kicked off. She didn’t seem confident and doesn’t have a ton of experience, and while I’m sure she has cooking talent… she needed to be a bit more agressive. So, my favorites are: Zoi, Stephanie, Richard (hello – sausage and peach pizza? I have to try that), and Spike. There’s something about Spike that I really like, though I can’t be sure what exactly yet.

WTF with Ryan who didn’t know how to make a classic chicken piccatta? That’s one of my “go to” dishes. I could make that in my sleep!

Who else is watching?

I haven’t been watching … though I’ve heard some good things about it and have been kind of tempted. I’m a big fan of Project Runway (my one exception to the reality TV thing), so I did try to watch one ep of the first season. I guess I was left with the feeling that food just doesn’t translate too well over TV for me… like I can see the beauty of the clothes through the TV, but what makes food good is lost when broadcast… hehe. We need smell-o-vision. ;o)

And I will admit … I’ve never made Chicken Piccata … just not something in my repertoire!

I’m watching! My hubby and I were floored by the peach pizza and can’t wait to try it.

Anyways it looks like this season will be a good one.

I’ve never made chicken piccata, either. So it’s easy? You should make it for us sometime. 😀 Maybe I’ll have to try it ~ could be a good dinner idea for when my parents are visiting this week. Hmm. Sausage and peach pizza with sweet tea dipping sauce?!? Now that’s unusual. I’ll have to ask Jeff what he thinks about that. I’m tempted to try it! No, haven’t been watching this season of Top Chef, but I’ve seen the show before and love it.
