Super Savings Saturday

I have been trying hard to get back onto the savings bandwagon. In the last couple of weeks I”ve been replinishing my stash of CVS ECBs, and trying hard to take advantage of sales while replenishing my stockpile. This week, Shop Rite had a “Dollar Days” sale going on and I was able to hit some great deals! I love Shop Rite for their sales. Shopping there is almost as bad as going to Walmart in terms of people being annoying, but it is worth it to save the money. And I do have to say that the people who work there are super nice and that makes a big difference. So, here’s what I bought:

Bargain Shopping
(4 boxes of Cheerios, 2 boxes of Raisin Bran, 5 frozen pizzas, 3 pouches of tuna, 2 large bags of Chex Mix, 2 boxes of brownie mix, 1 box of muffin mix, 3 pints of Blue Bunny ice cream, 1 box of Fiber One pancake mix, 1 bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup, 1 box of Ziplock freezer bags, 1 pkg of small Ziplock containers, 1 box of Italian ices, 1 toothbrush and 1 loaf of bread)

I bought all this for $23.69 after coupons and Catalinas!!! The original retail price before savings was $83.64!)

I actually spent $41.69 out of pocket, but I got back $18.00 worth of Catalina coupons (they’re the ones that the machine next to the cash register spits out — the cashier gives them to you with your reciept) that I can use like cash on my next shopping trip, but I’m taking them into account for my savings on this trip.

  1. Oh, I didn’t know what those were called! I wonder why they call them that.

  2. See, that’s what I miss about NY and PA. Here, at least in Louisville, there’s one grocery store, Krogers. Then you have something like a super walmart, which is Meiers. Then, there are some walmart grocery stores. That’s it. There’s no variety, and there’s hardly any competition. You did fantastic!

  3. I sure am impressed!

  4. Hi, my name is Tammy from Mom Knows Everything. I was wondering if you would be interested in doing a paid post about coupons. I’ve done it before and it’s really easy. It’s only 100 words and it pays $10 via paypal. They pay with a day or two once it’s post. If you are interested you can email me at tammy_and_john@hotmail.com or contact me at my blog. Thanks, Tammy

P.S. I was checking out your other blog too, but I couldn’t comment there.

  5. Wow, that’s a lot of savings! WTG!
