Par-tay!

Tee hee! Sherry invited me to a come-as-you-are blog party. So I took this photo as soon as I read it on her blog. Somehow you don’t see just how much crap I have on my shirt. I don’t even know what most of it is, honestly. Oh, and the clock back there? Yeah, it stopped at least a month ago and I keep forgetting to change the battery. Whoopsie! πŸ˜‰ Oh, and I tag Lisanne, Christina, and Susie to do the same because I think they’ll be good sports about it.
On a semi-related note… why can’t I get a battery to last in my Canon A610 for more than, like 10 photos, before getting the low battery warning? WTF? I think tomorrow I am going to have to shell out the bucks for new rechargables because I don’t want it crapping out in the middle of Jake’s holiday show on Wednesday night. The thing just *eats* batteries — regular old alkalines as well as my 5-year-old rechargeable set. Man, I hope new ones solves the problem. Sometimes I think I was better off with my old Olympus. I probably wouldn’t buy a Canon again. I don’t hate it, but I’ve had more problems with it than with my old camera.

OK, time to eat a chicken parm wedge (homemade) and have a glass or two of Nero D’Avola.

  1. […] Ohhh, too funny! Carol just invited me to a “come-as-you-are blog party” because she thought that I’d be a good sport about it. [And she was right.] What a fun idea! πŸ™‚ You can’t fix yourself up in any way … you just take your picture right then and there, however you are. Look at my hair! Ugh! πŸ™ That’s what happens when I don’t blow dry it [or do *anything* with it, for that matter!]. I *do* have on a little bit of makeup, but you can’t see it … just some mascara and blush. [My lip balm wore off a *long* time ago, so I licked my lips in order to fake it!] Hey, at least I look happy, right? πŸ™‚ And I am … today has been a *great* day. Plus … this is the *very* first picture that we took with my Christmas present! A brand-new Canon PowerShot A630 ~ *eight* megapixels, baby! Rock on! πŸ™‚ Lucas dropped and broke our old camera. Want to see the shot that he captured right beforehand? Cracks me up. Love the toes! πŸ™‚ […]

  2. Oh, weird! Why’d it leave my entire blog entry on *your* blog? Well, as you can see … I complied with your request! πŸ™‚

  3. I like it!

I’m having the same problem. I love my new camera but it definitely uses up more battery power (and I don’t even use the LCD). My rechargeables are also about 5 years old so I think that’s part of the problem, they probably don’t charge up as fully anymore. I told my mom I would love new ones for Christmas but I doubt she got them because they just sound like a boring gift even though I really want them!

Luckily my camera takes two and I have four so I’ve managed to avoid any major problems by always having two charged up.

  4. Oh thanks momma! I need a reason to post an entry. πŸ™‚

As far as the batteries, are you using Canon rechargables? Before I broke our new Canon PowerShot 6 something or was it a 7 something. Hell, I don’t remember, and it was only a month ago. Anyways, we used a Canon rechargable and they lasted like a week. I also had 4 batteries, to avoid any major problems as well.

  5. Same here. I have the same camera. I have a cybershot before and will probably go back to that when this camera craps out.
Honestly, my camera doesn’t eat through batteries that bad anymore, it did at first… or maybe I’m taking less pictures? lol

You look great, by the way πŸ™‚

  6. It won’t be so spontaneous, but I’ll post my picture when I get home tonight.

  7. My canon battery always lasted forever. And my battery for my Nikon D50 lasted me 1 month and over 1000 pics on a full charge … of course it is HUGE ..lol ..:) …. look for some NiMH rechargables, they will last a lot longer than regular old alkalines.
