At this point in the summer, I am very eager for school to start again. Summer vacation is so long. I wish they did year-round school here, with a couple weeks off every few months. I feel like that would be better for retaining everything they’re learning, and better for my sanity, LOL! At any rate, I’m waiting for the packages from both the elementary school and the nursery school. There’s always a meeting before nursery school starts (it’s a co-op), and I don’t want to miss it. Not to mention I’m not even sure of the first day of school. So I’m getting stressed about that.
Then, I’m waiting for the package from Jake’s school with the year’s calendar, school lunch info, etc. I just want to be able to get everything organized. I still can’t believe Jake’s going to be in second grade. I wonder if the room will be much different from first grade. Last year all the classroom chairs were arranged around tables. I wonder if they’ll have desks this year since I expect it to be more “academic.” I’ll find out soon enough.
I agree with you on wishing school was more year round… with longer mini breaks…
I’m not sure how I feel about year-round school. I’d have to see a proposal for it with an actual break down of time off and such.
My feeling is that it might let kids retain more information. It would certainly cut down on the start-up time required at the start of the year. However, I am concerned about kids getting burnt out. The breaks would either have to be longer or more often. Maybe a four day week? Oh god that would be bliss.
I can only imagine what it’s like for a parent and having to deal with the kids 24/7.
Ahhh summer, now that would be lovely!! We’re still in winter here at the moment and it’s so bleak and rainy. I’d love some sunshine 🙂
I am not surprised, Radiohead’s. Radiohead is not the worst thing happened to the plates and cronyism. “Kidd said:” There is no doubt that the album in 2010, no. But we must accept.
Did Noah go to preschool last year, or is this his first year? I’m in such an organizing, decluttering mood lately. BTW, the previous comment is pretty hilarious, LOL! 🙂 Can’t wait to hear about your NC trip!
