The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.
— Henry Van Dyke, Fisherman’s Luck (1899)
Indeed, in the Northeast the first day of spring might not be too warm (today is a little windy and chilly), but it’s here! It’s here! It’s finally here! I’ve been waiting for this day since winter began 🙂 I actually forgot about it until I was listening to “Writer’s Almanac” on the way to work this morning. Well, with Easter this weekend it will feel extra spring-y, that’s for sure! If you want a fun little thing to do (I bet kids would enjoy this), you can make your own bouquet at Pat’s Web Graphics, like I did.
You’re not kidding. That quote is right on! I cannot *wait* for that first “spring day.”
