Possums. I’m sorry, but they are totally gross. A couple of years ago, one found its way onto our roof and climbed down our screen, hissing and snapping the whole time. Well, spring is clearly here because last night I was sitting in the den watching TV when suddenly the motion sensor lights on the garage came on and startled me. Who the heck was heading down our driveway at 10 PM? After looking a little closer, I noticed that there was a vicious little possum walking around by the garage. Eww. I like most animals, really I do, but these things just freak me out, especially after our close encounter with one that time. Yuck!
They are nasty little critters. I will never forget the time our dogs go ahold of one. My dad thought it was dead and threw it in the trash when he wheeled the containers to the street. It wasn’t dead. Completely freaked out the trash guy the next morning. He threw the contents into the truck, but didn’t run the bailer in hopes the thing would jump out while going down the street. Ick!
I found your blog through SocialSpark. I am also raising boys…5 of them. I left the critters in Kentucky when we moved to Michigan. Now the worst I have to deal with are squirrels and the occasional bird. LOL Rattlesnakes and Bear are worries only on vacations and random visits to my parents. Thank God.
I’ve always said I am a country born, city girl. 🙂
Hope to chat with you more as time goes by.
