I used to think someday I’d like to go back to school and get my Masters degree, but honestly… right now I’m pretty happy where things are. I obviously don’t have the extra time to devote to pursuing a degree (and I can’t imagine studying on the paltry amount of sleep I get). I’m not even sure what I’d got back for if I had the opportunity. I don’t see myself as an MBA student or even getting an MFA in writing as I’d once planned.
Of course, twelve years ago when I was thinking about grad school, I think there were far fewer programs than there are now. Even the distance-learning programs were so much different than they are now. Lewis University Online offers an Information Security Masters program. Now, something like this very well could have existed back then, but I certainly wasn’t aware of it. But as more and more information gets stored in computers it’s important to have people who know how to make sure that important data remains private. I’m fascinated by online universities lately. Lewis is accredited and the tuition is reasonable. Kind of makes me wish I had the time and energy to further my education.
