I really need to start reading more. I continue to buy books, but by the time I can sit down and start reading, I’m just too tired. But I do spend a lot of time in the car and was thinking that maybe I should start listening to audio books. Booksonboard.com has a great selection of Downloadable Audio Books from both major publishing houses and small publishers. There are no annual fees or minimum purchases. Might be a cool service to check out.
Hey Carol, before you buy audiobooks, which can be very expensive, check your local library to see if they have audiobooks that can be downloaded. My library does (actually both my county library and the county I used to live and therefore still have the library card — and between them they have a huge selection). It’s free, and best of all I can browse, check out and download them to my mp3 player all online! (You can also burn them to cd.)
I think there are also a few sites on line with free audiobooks. I know there is one where volunteers read the books and upload the audio to the website, but I don’t remember the name. Oh, here I found it: http://librivox.org/
