Second verse, same as the first.
With one boy at school, the other napping, and my chores pretty well taken care of, I can go online guilt-free.
Home from school. Time for a snack (or, a bar of soap in Noah’s case — and no he didn’t eat it, he was just running around with it) and The Backyardigans:
Dinner, kid-style. If the boys don’t eat between 4:30 and 5, it gets bad. Really bad. So I usually make their dinner separate from ours. Tonight was the lazy mama platter.
Yellow Tail 2005 Chardonnay. The label was screwed up so it came home with me. I’d actually never had it before and it’s a big seller, so I was curious. It was actually pretty good (and I’m not a big chard fan). Peach and vanilla on the nose. Light oak. Finish was a little toasty. Very easy to drink, and just fine for a Wednesday evening.
Noah earns his keep. Hey, I’m not raising boys who are going to depend on someone else to clean up after them.
Gratuitous cute-baby-in-the-bath shot:
Jake cleaned up all of his toys, and Noah was in bed so he was allowed to play with his Leapster:
Dining alone tonight. I made myself a Metro Salad (my take on my favorite wrap from the deli near the store). It has green leaf lettuce (no decent romaine at the store), tomato, avacado, gorgonzola cheese, grilled chicken, and a drizzle of buttermilk ranch dressing). And a glass of the Yellow Tail Chard. It was as good as I had hoped it would be.
So close to finishing the scarf… So… close:
And there you have it. My run-of-the-mill, ordinary, at-home kind of day. I forgot how much work these photo posts are and that explains why it’s been so long since my last one. At any rate, now I’ll be catching up on e-mail, knitting a few more rows, and then passing out as soon as my head hits the pillow.
Until then…
That salad looks delicious!
Yes, that salad looks incredible. I *love* chardonnay! 🙂 The photo of you sneaking some ice cream is *so* cool. I’ve loved seeing your day in photos! Hmm, maybe I’ll do that sometime soon.
