Hellooo!
It’s been a while, wouldn’t you say? Last year I moved my blog back to Blogger, but after not really feeling more inspired I decided to move it all back here. 2019 brought so many changes for my family. Although it ended on a positive note, I was happy to see the year go because there was plenty of stress and uncertainty and I’m hopeful that 2020 will be a lot more calm!
Let’s start it all out by linking up with Sandra for Happy Homemaker Monday, shall we?
The weather:
The forecast seems to change every time I check it, but the weather certainly is all over the place. Nearly 60 on Saturday? What?

How I am feeling this morning:
Well, it’s the afternoon as I write this, but overall I’m feeling great. I still unfortunately have a cough that I just can’t shake. I’ve been suffering with some respiratory ick for far too long, but I do think it’s getting better.
On my mind:
Finishing up Jake’s college applications. I’ve been writing this blog since before he was born (though most of those entries have been archived and aren’t public anymore). It’s just hard to believe that we are at this stage in life. Exciting, but bittersweet as I am sure many of you know!
On the breakfast plate:
This morning it was a multigrain English muffin with natural peanut butter
On my reading pile:
I just started this book last week, and it will be released tomorrow. Considering everything we’ve gone through in the last few years, this book definitely has me feeling less of that “why is it only me?” feeling. What I like about the book is that the author talks to women of all walks of life. Well-to-do, struggling; SAHMs, working moms… plus, of course there are great cultural references that Gen Xers will appreciate.
On my television:
We are finishing up Better Call Saul season 4, and I have quite a few Netflix shows in the queue.
On the menu this week:
I still have to finish menu planning. I’m trying to use as many freezer and pantry items as possible this month, so I need to take inventory of what I have available. Plus, I have a late meeting on Thursday, and my husband needs to help out his mom who is having knee surgery this week, so the last half is a bit up in the air.
Monday: Roasted tomato soup & buttermilk chicken sandwiches
Tuesday: Crock Pot sausage Parmesan
Wednesday: Chicken tacos

From the camera:
Nothing to share this week, sorry!
Looking around the house:
Believe it or not we still are not all back together after Christmas! We’ve been clearing out old decorations and rearranging furniture. Hoping it will all be done by the weekend, though.
Chore I’m not looking forward to today or this week:
Hmm… I can’t really say there is anything!
To relax this week, I will:
Finish up crochet projects that I started ages ago
Give myself a manicure
On my prayer list:
My mother-in-law, who is having knee replacement surgery on Wednesday.
Everyone in Australia affected by the fires
This country, because boy do we need them.
