Back to Normal…

Wow, a lot has happened in the two months since I last blogged! First, thanks to all who commented on my last couple of posts. It’s funny how life works out, though. D. ended up finding a remote job with a small software company and just started on Wednesday. The founder lives down in Queens and there’s no real “office” so the first day of work was spent at this gentleman’s apartment so D. could get up to speed. He’s only a couple days in, of course, but so far so good. I’m cautiously optimistic!

So yes… things seem a lot more “normal” now. It was a really hard spring and I am so glad to be starting a new season, both literally and metaphorically! It was really hard for me to do anything like blogging, or going out with friends. Honestly, some days just cooking and doing laundry and getting through the day was a struggle. I am finally starting to feel more “myself” again and looking forward to better days ahead.

There is another potential (positive) change on the horizon… the director at the library where I work announced her retirement so I am applying for the position. It’s a big step, but a logical one. If it is meant to be it will work out, and if the board of trustees decides to hire someone else, that’s OK too. I’ll just keep plugging along as assistant director and I’ll be fine with that. So this weekend I’m going to finish polishing my resume and officially apply.

Things are great with the kids. We had Junior prom, multiple concerts, awards ceremonies, field days, and 8th grade moving-up… Time just flies. The boys still have final/Regents exams on Monday and Tuesday and L.’s last day of school is Wednesday. I’m hoping the summer won’t fly by too much. I’m not quite ready for my oldest’s senior year and everything that means!

Anyway, it was time to pop on and say hello. It feels good to be back!
